Is Installing Solar for Me?

Farmers can participate in solar energy by installing solar panels at their farm. Solar panels can be installed directly on the roof of a farm structure such as a barn, poultry house, or they can be ground-mounted. Constructing a solar system at a farm and connecting it to the electrical grid can help offset the cost of electricity used to power the farm. The Department of Energy, Solar  Energy Technologies Office created  a Farmers Guide to Going Solar.

Is Community Solar for Me?

If installing a solar system at your farm to offset your onsite electricity load is not for you, participating in Community Solar may be of interest. A community solar project is a large solar project whose electricity is not used on-site but is instead shared by multiple entities. Hundreds of homes and businesses can share the electricity of a single community solar project by purchasing subscriptions to the project.
