Non-profits can participate in solar energy by installing solar panels on their property. Solar systems can be installed on a roof or as a ground-mounted system. Solar systems located on the property of a non-profit are typically interconnected to the electrical grid and can be used to offset the cost of electricity.

Schools can power their campuses through the installation of a solar system on either school buildings or the school grounds. Schools considering the installation of solar panels will need to take additional steps to gain the approval of the School Board and other school officials.

Energize Delaware’s Solar for School Districts Grant Program offers Delaware public school districts an opportunity to go solar at not cost to the school.
